Pocket Media Group strongly supports the development of young talent, the future of our country. Offering media and marketing apprenticeships is one of multiple ways PMG is able to provide the opportunity and platform for the younger generation to gain invaluable, hands-on media experience. Whether it be interviewing global superstars for one of our magazines, publishing content on one of our websites, delving into the analytical side of the business or sourcing amazing content to help grow an audience, we have a passion for providing a fun, professional and creative entrepreneurial environment. Thus enabling apprentices to quickly gain an insight into the industry and develop their skills, all whilst working amongst a driven team led by an experienced manager.
Not only do Pocket Media Group apprentices gain a huge amount of knowledge, but it is our aim to set them on a path whereby they have the choice to pursue media further and within our organisation.
In the past six months, two Pocket Media Group apprentices have successfully passed the course gaining a Level 3 Digital Marketing Diploma and are now full-time members of staff at our HQ.
In recent years many apprentices, interns and even contributors have progressed to develop careers within organisations such as BBC, SKY, The Guardian, The Financial Times and ITV to name a few.
Back in 2011 Carl Hemp contributed for The Student Pocket Guide and today he has worked his way up within ITV to become a Senior Planning Producer for ITV’s Good Morning Britain in London.
Gary Pounder worked closely alongside SPGtv arranging and carrying out filmed celebrity interviews and later went on to secure himself an amazing production job at BBC Radio 1 working alongside Greg James, Scott Mills and Nick Grimshaw.
Above are just two examples of people who have contributed for one of our titles to gain extra experience and boost their CV, and have gone on to secure life-changing careers.
